Why Boostly

Lifting apps can't feed you. Diet apps can't shop. Nobody watches your wallet.

Hevy owns logging. MyFitnessPal owns food databases. Nobody combines serious training, honest nutrition and live Australian grocery pricing in one place. That intersection is Boostly — and the budget engine is the part you'll tell your mates about.

01

Log like the best

Big targets, one-tap sets, auto rest timer, PR detection with honest e1RM maths. As fast as the fastest logger you've used — because that was the bar.

02

Eat to your numbers

Macro targets from published formulas with safety floors enforced in code. Australian recipes whose calories actually add up — every one audited against 4/4/9.

03

Shop the plan

Your week's meals become a priced list for Woolworths, Coles or ALDI. Exact-cents totals, a budget bar, and swaps that save money without costing protein.

The whole loop

Log → eat → shop → earn → compete

Workouts

A logger that keeps up with the bar

Start from a template or your own plan. Every set is one tap — the last weight and reps are already filled in. The rest timer starts itself, PRs flash gold the moment they happen, and volume charts read per muscle, honestly.

  • 46-exercise catalog with form cues
  • Epley & Brzycki e1RM, shown not hidden
  • Plans capped by evidence-based weekly volume

Nutrition

Macros that refuse to go unsafe

Targets come from Mifflin-St Jeor and your goal — never below your BMR, deficits capped at 20%, protein and fat floors enforced in code. Edit anything; the floors hold. Australian recipes with calories that genuinely add up.

  • Recipe browser: high-protein, quick, budget
  • Weekly meal planner with live roll-ups
  • Every seed recipe audited against 4/4/9

Budget shopping · the headline

Your meal plan, priced at your supermarket

The week's meals become an aisle-grouped list with exact-cents totals for Woolworths, Coles or ALDI. Set a budget, watch the bar, and take the swaps: “$12.40 over budget. Two swaps get you back — same protein, less spend.”

  • Store switcher recalculates every price instantly
  • Integer-cents maths — totals never drift
  • Swaps ranked to protect protein first

Gamification

Rewarding. Never manipulative.

A deterministic points ledger, streaks with multipliers capped at x2, and achievements you can audit. Fixed awards, no variable-ratio tricks, no guilt mechanics — a missed day simply restarts the count, and your best is banked forever.

  • 12 achievements with live progress
  • Streak flame on Home — gold because it's earned
  • Calm reminders you can switch off, each one

Social

Compete only if — and how — you want

Everything social is off until you say otherwise. Friends by handle, a feed of shared sessions, fair leaderboards (volume is ranked per kilo of you), and challenges that resolve honestly — protein goals are cooperative, nobody is framed as a loser.

  • Master switch: off means off, and it retracts
  • Blocking works everywhere, silently
  • Compare stats only behind a mutual gate

How it works

A plan that fits your week

  1. 1

    Three minutes of questions

Age, size, goal, training days. Boostly computes safe targets from published formulas and builds a weekly plan that fits your schedule — capped at volumes you can actually recover from.

  2. 2

    Log fast, eat true

Sets take one tap; meals come from the planner or a quick-add. Rings on Home show calories and protein against your targets, live, all day.

  3. 3

Shop the plan, keep the change

The week's meals become a priced list at your supermarket. Switch stores, watch the budget bar, take a protein-preserving swap or two — and bank the points.

From the beta crew

Real people, first names only

“The logger is faster than the notes app I used for six years — and the shopping list paid for itself in swaps the first fortnight.”

Dave, 46 · fat loss · Wollongong

$23.80 saved in week one

“First app that didn't try to starve me. I typed a stupid calorie number and it politely refused. The floors are the whole point.”

Mel, 33 · strength · Brisbane

Targets clamped at BMR, twice

“Day 41. The streak multiplier caps at x2 so I stopped gaming it and just… trained. Which I suspect was the idea.”

Sam, 28 · general · Geelong

41-day streak, best of 41

FAQ

Fair questions

Is Boostly medical advice?

No. Boostly gives general fitness and nutrition guidance from published formulas and your own inputs. Its safety floors (never below BMR, deficits capped at 20%, protein and fat minimums) are guardrails, not prescriptions. Talk to your GP or an accredited practising dietitian before changing your training or diet — especially if you're pregnant, under 18, injured, or have a history of disordered eating.

Where do the supermarket prices come from?

Licensed and affiliate feeds, moderated community submissions, manual entry, and realistic estimates — never from scraping Woolworths, Coles or ALDI, whose terms forbid it. Prices are indicative and can lag the shelf; always check in-store. Boostly isn't affiliated with any supermarket.

What actually leaves my phone?

By default: nothing. Your profile, workouts, meals and shopping lists live on your device. Cloud backup, the social feed, leaderboards and challenges are each separately opt-in — and when you opt in, only the minimum leaves (a leaderboard score is one number, not your training log). Switching social off retracts what you'd shared.

Android or iOS?

Android first — that's where we're building and testing. iOS follows once the Android app has earned its stars.

What's in the free tier, really?

The complete offline app: the fast logger, plans with safety caps, recipes and the meal planner, a shopping list with bundled price estimates, points, streaks and achievements. Boost adds live store pricing, protein-preserving swaps, cloud sync, social and the local-AI advisor.

How do I delete my data?

On-device data: wipe it in settings, or just uninstall — it was never anywhere else. Server-side data (if you opted into sync or social): delete your account in-app for immediate removal, or use the data-deletion form on this site; requests are actioned within 30 days.
